Abstract:

Tato práce poskytuje teoretický vhled do tématu úzkosti z cizích jazyků, která je zde spjata s prozódií Anglického jazyka a dalšími aspekty mluveného projevu. Hlavním cílem této práce je korelace stupně úzkosti z cizích jazyků a kvalitativních změn v mluveném projevu jednotlivých účastníků studie. Jednotlivé analýzy vedou k obecným závěrům na téma úzkosti v mluveném projevu v cizím jazyce. Studie dále poskytuje teoretické zázemí týkající se vztahu emocí a řeči, resp. vlivu emocí na mluvený projev. Práce neopomíjí ani roli motivace a ohodnocení vlastní výkonnosti či další koncepty (komunikační úzkost apod.) a poskytuje i náhled do možných metodologických postupů ke snížení stupně úzkosti z mluveného projevu v cizím jazyce.

Abstract:

This work provides a theoretical insight into the subject of foreign language anxiety that is in this thesis closely related to prosodic features of the English language and other aspects of spoken performance. The main focus of this thesis is on the correlation of the amount of experienced foreign language anxiety and a qualitative shift of the spoken performance of individual study subjects. These separate analyses lead to a general conclusion concerning the performance anxiety. The study furthermore provides theoretical background in terms of emotions-and-speech relations, i.e. influence of emotions on spoken performance. The work also examines the role of motivation and self-efficacy and other concepts (e.g. communication apprehension) and provides a review of possible methodological implications leading to the reduction in the amount of experienced foreign language anxiety.
