Abstract:

Předkládaná práce analyzuje vybrané aspekty myšlení Martina Lupáče, významného utrakvistického diplomata, kněze a teologa. Tato analýza se z velké části opírá o Lupáčovy polemické spisy. Pozornost je věnována celkem čtyřem aspektům. Zaprvé, disertace sleduje, jakým způsobem Martin Lupáč v průběhu let modifikoval své vzpomínky na významné události 30. let 15. století, kterých se sám nezřídka účastnil. Zadruhé je představeno Lupáčovo hodnocení význačných historických aktérů, přičemž v případě basilejského koncilu jsou za účelem komparace zohledněny spisy dalších utrakvistů pozdního středověku. Třetím sledovaným aspektem je Lupáčova interpretace basilejských kompaktát, rozčleněná podle jednotlivých třecích ploch, které mezi kališníky a katolíky kvůli odlišnému chápání kompaktát vznikaly. Jde přitom o zatím nejobsáhlejší vhled do tohoto typu polemiky. Začtvrté, především na základě studia pramenů z prostředí Jednoty bratrské hledá disertace odpověď na otázku, do jaké míry mohly být Lupáčovy rady zodpovědné za ustanovení nezávislého bratrského kněžstva v roce 1467.

Abstract:

The thesis analyses selected aspects of Martin Lupáč’s thinking. He was a significant Utraquist diplomat, priest and theologian and the analysis is mostly based on his polemical writings. Attention is given to four aspects. Firstly, the thesis examines in what way Martin Lupáč modified, throughout the years, his memories of important events from the 1430s in which he often took part. Secondly, Lupáč’s evaluation of historic figures is presented. In the case of the Council of Basel, other Utraquists‘ writings are taken into account for the sake of comparison. The third examined aspect is Lupáč’s interpretation of the Compactata of Basel, segmented according to individual bones of contention which emerged between the Utraquists and Catholics because of different understanding of the Compactata. Thus, the thesis offers the most extensive insight into this type of polemic to date. Lastly, mainly on the basis of sources from the Unity of the Brethren‘s milieu, the thesis aims to answer the question to what extent Lupáč’s advice may have been responsible for the establishment of the Unity’s independent clergy in 1467.
