A reflection on political and societal change in 1989 in non-artifical Czechoslovak music in the 1990's

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Odraz politických a společenských změn roku 1989 v československé nonartificiální hudbě v 90. letech XX. století" sleduje, jak se dění ve společnosti v devadesátých letech promítalo do hudební oblasti populární hudby v Československu. Všímá si, jak se zahraniční hudební scéna 90. let projevila v naší domácí hudební tvorbě. Zaměřuje se na podstatné změny, popisuje nové možnosti, které dekáda 90. let přinesla. Srovnává hudební produkci krátce před rokem 1989 a po něm. Zabývá se médii ve spojitosti s žánry, které propagovaly. Věnuje pozornost hudebním časopisům, jež přinášely informace z naší i zahraniční hudby, stěžejním festivalům, koncertům našich i zahraničních interpretů a hudebních skupin. Porovnává vydávání hudebních nosičů u nás v dekádách 80. a 90. let. V závěru přináší na základě všech zjištěných skutečností úvahu o tom, jak se změny roku 1989 odrazily ve vývoji populární hudby na konci XX. století.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis, "A reflection of the politic and changes of 1989 in the Czechoslovak nonarificial music of the twentieth century" observes how events in society were reflected in the Czechoslovak popular music during the 1990s. It notices how the foreign music scene of the 1990s manifested itself in our domestic music, focuses on the fundamental changes, describes the new possibilities that the decade of the 1990s brought. It compares the music production shortly before and after 1989. Furthermore, this thesis deals with the media in connection with the genres they promoted. It pays attention to music magazines that brought information about our and foreign music, major festivals, and the concerts of our and foreign artists. The work compares the release of the music media in our country in decades 80' and 90'. In conclusion, based on all the findings, it provides a reflection on how the changes of 1989 were reflected in the development of popular music at the end of the twentieth century.
