Potential and limitations of tourism in the Czech republic.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hodnocením potenciálů a limitů cestovního ruchu v České republice s cílem formulovat doporučení pro další rozvoj tohoto odvětví. K dosažení tohoto cíle jsou stanoveny tři hlavní výzkumné otázky, které se zaměřují na stav cestovního ruchu, identifikaci silných stránek a slabých stránek, příležitostí a hrozeb současného stavu CR, stejně jako na hlavní trendy a očekávané změny do roku 2030. Pro dosažení těchto cílů byla použita metodika zahrnující analýzu statistických dat, primárně z České centrály cestovního ruchu a Českého statistického úřadu za období 2018-2022, popřípadě za rok 2023 (dle dostupnosti dat), SWOT analýzu a srovnání s rakouským cestovním ruchem. Výsledky ukazují na to, že český cestovní ruch byl v roce 2022 charakterizován stabilizací návštěvnosti, zejména po období ovlivněném pandemií COVID-19. Ubytovací zařízení poskytovala široký výběr a dosáhla poměrně vysoké míry obsazenosti. Mezi silné stránky cestovního ruchu ČR patří bezpečnost země a bohaté kulturní dědictví, zatímco slabiny zahrnují nedostatečnou podporu ze strany dotační politiky a sezónnost cestovního ruchu. Příležitosti pro rozvoj zahrnují investice do infrastruktury a podporu udržitelného turismu, zatímco hrozby mohou představovat nepředvídatelné události a silnou konkurenci ze strany jiných destinací. Do roku 2030 se očekávají investice do infrastruktury, podpora udržitelného turismu a zlepšení marketingových strategií. Klíčové dokumenty zahrnují Strategii rozvoje cestovního ruchu na období 2021-2030 a Koncepci veřejné dopravy 2020-2025 s výhledem do roku 2030.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the assessment of potentials and limitations of tourism in the Czech Republic with the aim of formulating recommendations for further development of this industry. To achieve this goal, three main research questions are established, focusing on the current state of tourism, identification of strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the current situation, as well as major trends and expected changes by 2030. To achieve these objectives, a methodology was used including the analysis of statistical data, primarily from the Czech Tourism Central and the Czech Statistical Office for the period 2018-2022, or for the year 2023 (based on data availability), SWOT analysis, and comparison with Austrian tourism. The results indicate that Czech tourism was characterized by stability in visitation in 2022, especially after the period affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Accommodation facilities provided a wide selection and achieved relatively high occupancy rates. The strengths of Czech tourism include the country's safety and rich cultural heritage, while weaknesses include inadequate support from subsidy policies and seasonality of tourism. Opportunities for development include investment in infrastructure and support for sustainable tourism, while threats may include unpredictable events and strong competition from other destinations. Investments in infrastructure, support for sustainable tourism, and improvement in marketing strategies are expected by 2030. Key documents include the Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030 and the Public Transport Concept 2020-2025 with a view to 2030.
