Alternative culture in Brno at the turn of 80's and 90's with focus on music scene

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá alternativní kulturou v Brně v 80. a v 90. letech se zaměřením na hudební scénu a její proměnou v návaznosti na sociálně - kulturní kontext a politické dění. Metodologickým vodítkem je nejen časová chronologie, ale i osobní rozhovory s osobnostmi ovlivňujícími soudobou brněnskou alternativní kulturu, ale i samotné prostory konání akcí a periodika a další média, která byla jedním z nositelů změny. V jednotlivých kapitolách se zabývám zmapováním existence, vzniku, případně zániku prostor a zásadních uskupení pro alternativní hudební vystoupení, výtvarné expozice i divadelní tvorbu. V jednotlivých kapitolách je nastíněn nejen průběh v daném dvacetiletí, ale i změny, které s sebou pro jednotlivé obory přinesl přelomový rok 89 a jejich další aklimatizace.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is summarization of alternative cultures in Brno during 80's and 90's. The main focus is especially on music scene, where I map places of periodical production with respective sub-cutlures bound to them. Thesis conceives this situation in broader context – I focus on phenomenon of alternative culture and definition of its relationship to "undergroung" movement. In this thesis is included reflexion on socio-cultural situation, which has been significant for profilation of culture in that period. After the change of political system in 1989 not even it came to transformation of cultural institutions and formation of non-profit organizations. More on I summarize significant media, general analysis of visual and theatre scenes as an important formation bearer, which at the same time reflects contemporary discourse.
