Feudal manors of the Apponyi family in the light of archaeological and written sources focusing on the castle Oponice

Abstract:

The submitted doctoral thesis presents three Apponyi family residences using the available resources mainly the castle Oponice where was realised extensive archaeological research from 2015-2018 and in 2020. By evaluating the archaeological situations combined with the conclusions from other researches and their analysis enable to make a complex image of the noble residences and history of one family from the 13th century until the middle of the 20th century.

Abstract:

Predkladaná dizertačná práca sa pokúša na základe dostupných prameňov predstaviť podoby troch sídel rodiny Apponyiovcov predovšetkým hrad Oponice, na ktorom bol realizovaný rozsiahly archeologický výskum v rokoch 2015-2018 a v roku 2020. Vyhodnotením archeologických situácii v kombinácii so závermi z ďalších výskumov a ich analýz umožňuje urobiť si komplexný obraz o podobe jednotlivých šľachtických sídel a histórie jednej rodiny od 13. storočia až do polovice 20. storočia.
