The tree as a symbol in human history

Abstract:

V předkládané bakalářské práci se zaměřuji na historické artefakty a nálezy spjaté se stromy. Základní myšlenkou práce je za pomocí těchto nálezů vytvořit detailní sondu do hluboké symboliky stromů v průběhu lidských dějin. V úvodu práce stručně připomenu základní botanické podklady spjaté se stromy. Dále pak bude následovat část práce, kde na základě archeologických nálezů bude vysvětlena a objasněna symbolika stromů v jednotlivých lidských kulturách, pravěkem počínaje. Hlavní přínos práce vidím v uceleném, sjednoceném a kompaktním pohledu na jednotlivé aspekty archetypálního odkazu stromů, které pojaty takto dohromady vytvoří jednotný a úplný obraz symboliky stromů v průběhu lidských dějin.

Abstract:

The present thesis is focused on the historical artifacts and findings associated with trees. The basic idea of this work is using these findings to create detailed probe into the deep symbolism of trees in the course of human history. The introduction briefly recall the basic botanical documentation associated with trees. Then followed by the part of the work, where on the basis of archaeological findings will be explained and clarified the symbolism of trees across human cultures, from Prehistory. The main contribution of the work I see in a coherent, unified and compact look at different aspects of the archetypal reference trees which conceived so together they form a unified and complete picture of the symbolism of trees in the course of human history.
