Differences, similarities and challenges in hydrokinesitherapy of patients with Parkinson's disease: case report

Abstract:

Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly population, although in some cases it can also affect adulthood. This disease is linked to the progressive disappearance of a particular population of neurons that are found in the substantia nigra and produce dopamine, a neurotransmitter whose lack causes motor and non-motor disorders. There are currently some forms of treatment and rehabilitation to reduce the symptoms of PD, although none of them are able to stop its progression and degeneration.

Abstract:

La malattia di Parkinson (PD) e una tra le patologie neurodegenerative pi? diffuse nella popolazione anziana, anche se in alcuni casi pu? colpire anche in et? adulta. Tale malattia ? legata alla progressiva scomparsa di una particolare popolazione di neuroni che si trovano nella sostanza nera e producono dopamina, un neurotrasmettitore la cui mancanza causa disturbi motori e non. Attualmente esistono alcune forme di cura e riabilitazione per ridurre i sintomi di PD, sebbene nessuna di esse sia in grado di fermarne la progressione e la degenerazione.
