Mothers' Knowledge of the Overdue Pregnancy Management from the Midwife's Perspective

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je informovanost matek o managementu potermínové gravidity z pohledu porodní asistentky. V teoretické části jsme se nejdříve zaměřili obecně na těhotenství, kde jsme popsali délku trvání těhotenství a výpočet termínu porodu pomocí několika metod. V dalších částech jsme popsali potermínovou graviditu, sledovací metody po termínu porodu, vedení potermínové gravidity a metody umělého vyvolání porodu. V praktické části jsme se zaměřili na zpracování průzkumné metody sběru dat pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Cílem praktické části bylo zjistit informovanost matek o potermínové graviditě a jejím vedení, o vyvolání porodu pomocí preindukce či indukce z důvodu potermínové gravidity u žen rodících v termínu 41 + 0 – 42 + 0, pomocí čtyř průzkumných otázek. Zaměřovali jsme se na informovanost o délce trvání těhotenství, nejčastější způsob získávání informací o dané problematice, zda jsou ženy dostatečně informovány zdravotnickým personálem o zkoumané problematice a znají důvody, postupy a metody vyvolání porodu a také jak ženy vyvolání porodu vnímají. Dotazníkového šetření se zúčastnilo 100 žen. Součástí praktické části jsme vyvodili doporučení pro praxi a vypracovali informační brožuru na základě velkého zájmu o potermínové graviditě a jejím vedení, která je určena všem těhotným ženám.

Abstract:

The present Bachelor's thesis focuses on maternal awareness concerning post-term pregnancy management as seen from the midwife's point of view. The theoretical part discusses pregnancy in general, describing the duration of pregnancy and the calculation of the due date using several methods. Following parts explain post-term pregnancy, post-term follow-up methods, management of post-term pregnancy and methods of artificial induction of labour. The practical part of the thesis evaluates the research methodology of data collection using a questionnaire survey. The practical part of the thesis sought to determine maternal awareness of post-term pregnancy and its management, induction of labour by pre-induction or induction due to post-term pregnancy in women delivering between 41 + 0 and 42 + 0, using four survey questions. The awareness concerning the following topics was assessed: the duration of pregnancy, the most frequent way of obtaining information about the topic, whether the women are sufficiently informed by the health personnel about the topic under study and know the reasons, procedures and methods of labour induction, as well as the women's perception of labour induction. Altogether, one hundred women participated in the questionnaire survey. Recommendations for practice were drawn from the practical part, and an informative booklet was developed in response to the considerable interest in post-term pregnancy and its management intended for all pregnant women.
