Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na poskytnutí ucelenějšího pohledu na meditaci, a z ní vyplývajících změn stavu vědomí. V úvodu práce je popsán historický vývoj problematiky mysli a těla ve filosofii a v psychologii. Na problematiku vědomí navazuje zvláštní kapitola věnovaná definicím změněných stavů vědomí, které jsou pro tuto práci stěžejním tématem. Dále jsou popsány typy meditačních praktik a jejich rozdělení dle náboženských systémů. V nejobsáhlejší části práce je zpracováno téma současného stavu poznání se zaměřením pozornosti na změny mozkové aktivity při vizualizačních meditačních praktikách. Samostatná kapitola je věnována meditačním stylům Shamatha a Vipassana a buddhistickému pojetí vědomí. Dalším tématem jsou režimy existenciálního uvědomění. Poznatky z této, zatím téměř neprobádané oblasti stupňů vědomí při meditacích, mohou v budoucnosti pomoci při snaze předcházet nemocem, zlepšit blahobyt nebo léčit nemoci. Druhotným cílem práce bylo zpřístupnění zdrojů, publikovaných v anglickém jazyce, pomocí překladu vybraných pasáží do českého jazyka a jejich interpretace. Práce je teoretická, avšak pokouší se o začlenění nejnovějších vědeckých poznatků o studiu změněných stavů vědomí při meditaci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis attempts to provide a closer look at the meditation phenomenon and the changes of consciousness, which are consequent upon this issue. The historical development of mind and body in philosophy and psychology is described in the introduction of the thesis. After that, the definitions of altered state of consciousness, which are the main topic of this thesis, are being dealt with in the special chapter. The meditation practices and their classification according to particular religion are also described. The largest section of the thesis deals with the current state of knowledge, with focus on the changes in brain activity during the visualization meditation. An extra chapter is dedicated to Shamatha and Vipassana meditation and the Buddhist concept of consciousness. Existential awareness is another topic covered by this thesis. The knowledge of the degrees of meditation, which has not been suffi-ciently explained by now, may help to prevent the illnesses (and even to cure them) or simply improve one's welfare in the future. The secondary aim of this thesis is to make the relevant English sources more accessible to Czech addressees by translating chosen excerpts into Czech language and interpreting them. This thesis is rather theoretical. It attempts, however, to make use of the latest scientific discoveries about the altered states of consciousness during the meditation process.
