Heresy in the Middle Ages

Abstract:

Slovo hereze pochází z řeckého heiresis, což znamená volba, ve středověku volně překládáno kacířství. Práce mapuje proces od vzniku hereze až po její zánik v 19. století. V práci je pojmu hereze věnována samostátná kapitola, která vysvětluje okolnosti vzniku ale i na její reflexi ze strany společnosti. V další kapitole jsou popsány jednotlivé druhy herezí. V práci je popsán i pojem inkvizice, její vývoj a hlavní představitelé. Bakalářská práce vychází z literárních děl autora Malcolma Lamberta. Snažím se ale o komparaci jednotlivých děl od více autorů a vytvořit tak přehled, který reflektuje celou dobu hereze.

Abstract:

Heresies is from Greek heiresis, what means option, in the Middle Ages loosely translates as heresy. The thesis maps process from its inception in the Middle Ages until its dissolution in the 19th century. The work is devoted to heresy as a separate concept - is allocated a separate chapter, which will focus on the circumstances and its reflection of the society. The next chapter is dedicated to selected kinds of heresies. We can find here the details about Inquisition, its development and major players. The work is mainly based on literary works from Malcolm Lambert. But I would like to put together the facts from more artists and make summary which reflects the all era of heresies.
