Life and status of primary education teachers during the first Czechoslovak Republic and their comparison with the present

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou primárního školství meziválečného Československa a životem a postavení učitelů působících v primárním vzdělávání v období první republiky. Popisuje stav primárního školství v první republice a reformní snahy pedagogů o jeho změnu. Přibližuje životní podmínky prvorepublikového primárního učitele, problematiku jeho vzdělání a povinností. Dále je meziválečné primární školství a pedagogů v něm působících komparováno se současným stavem primárního vzdělávání, životem a postavení nynějších učitelů prvního stupně ZŠ. Cílem historicko-srovnávací analýzy je zjistit, jaké změny přinesl vývoj školství během první republiky a ukázat případné přesahy tohoto vývoje pohledem do současnosti nejen v životě a postavení učitele prvního stupně základní školy.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses the issue of primary education in interwar Czechoslovakia and the life and position of teachers working in primary education during the First Republic. It describes the state of primary education in the First Republic and the reform efforts of teachers to change it. It presents the living conditions of the first republican primary teacher, the issues of his education and his duties. Furthermore, the interwar primary education and the educators working in it are compared with the current state of primary education, the life and position of the current primary school teachers. The aim of the historical-comparative analysis is to identify the changes brought about by the development of education during the First Republic and to show the possible overlaps of this development by looking at the present not only in the life and position of the primary school teacher.
