Work meaningfulness in the pharmaceutical industry

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou vnímání smysluplnosti práce ve farmaceutickém průmyslu. V teoretické části se věnuje možným teoretickým pojetím smysluplné práce, jelikož neexistuje jedna správná definice, která by jasně vymezovala, co smysluplná práce je a čím je tvořena. Dále se zabývá pozitivy, které s sebou smysluplná práce přináší, jakými způsoby je možné ji podpořit a co ji naopak narušuje. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké je vnímání smysluplnosti práce pracovníky ve farmaceutickém průmyslu. Výzkum byl realizován pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru se 6 pracovníky z farmaceutické společnosti a byl zaměřen na nalezení vlivů, které působí na vnímání práce jako smysluplné. Výsledky výzkumu zprostředkované tematickou analýzou poukázaly na skutečnost, že práce ve farmaceutickém průmyslu není nutně hlavním zdrojem smysluplnosti práce, byť patří mezi povolání, která jsou sociálně přínosná.

Abstract:

The thesis is concerned with issues of work meaningfulness in the pharmaceutical industry. The theoretical part deals with possible theoretical concepts of meaningful work because there is not one correct definition that would clearly define what meaningful work is and what it is made of. It also deals with the positives that meaningful work brings, how it can be supported and what, on the contrary, disrupts it. The aim of this thesis is to find out what is the perception of the meaningfulness of work by workers in the pharmaceutical industry. The research was carried out through a semi-structured interview with 6 employees from a pharmaceutical company and was focused on finding influences that affect the perception of work as meaningful. The results of the research mediated by the thematic analysis pointed to the fact that work in the pharmaceutical industry is not necessarily the main source of meaningfulness of work, although it is one of the professions that benefit society in some way.
