Effect of variety and agroecological conditions on yield and nitrogen content of winter wheat grain

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce porovnává deset odrůd pšenice ozimé hodnocených v polním pokusu, která byl založený na pozemcích pokusné stanice Mendelovy univerzity v Žabčicích. Pro pokus byly vybrány dvě stanoviště, jedno s podmínkami vhodnými pro pěstování pšenice ozimé a druhé s podmínkami méně příznivými. Na stanovišti s vhodnými podmínkami byla zvolena intenzivní agrotechnika s aplikací dusíkatých hnojiv v dávce 150 kg N.ha-1, zatímco na stanovišti méně vhodném extenzivní dávkou odpovídající 30 kg N.ha-1. Během vegetace a po sklizni porostů byly získány a analyzovány údaje o počtu klasů na jednotku plochy, hektarový výnos, hmotnost tisíce zrn, objemová hmotnost a obsah dusíkatých látek v zrnu. Tyto údaje byly následně použity pro porovnání reakce odrůd na rozdílná stanoviště a intenzitu hnojení.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis compares ten varieties of winter wheat in a field trial estabilished on the fields of the experimental station of Mendel University in Žabčice. Two sites were chosen for the experiment, first with conditions suitable for winter wheat cultivation and the second one with less favourable conditions. On the site with suitable conditions an intensive cultivation practice was adopted with an application of nitrogen fertilisers at a rate of 150 kg.ha-1 N, while on the less suitable site an extensive husbandry with a nitrogen rate of 30 kg.ha-1 was chosen. Data on number of ears per unit area, grain yield per hectare, thousand grain weight, grain bulk density and grain nitrogen content were obtained during the growing season and after harvest. These data were then used to compare the response of the varieties to different field conditions and crop management.
