Use of Electrodialysis with Polarity Reversal in the Implementation of ZLD Technologies

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá aplikací elektrodialýzy s reverzací polarity elektrod v ZLD technologiích. V teoretické části je uveden význam a návrh ZLD systémů, souhrn, popis a problémy procesů, které se pro tyto systémy využívají. Praktická část práce se zabývá vlivem inertní soli na srážecí rovnováhu uhličitanu hořečnatého v roztoku a hledáním podmínek a preferenčního místa, ve kterém se sraženina v elektrodialyzační jednotce začne přednostně vytvářet. Dále je diskutován vliv reverzace polarity elektrod na průběh elektrodialýzy vysoce koncentrovaných roztoků síranu sodného znečištěných hořečnatými a uhličitanovými ionty.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the implementation of electrodialysis with electrodes polarity reversal in ZLD technologies. The theoretical part is focused on the importance and design of ZLD systems, on the summary, description and problems of the most used ZLD processes. The practical part deals with the influence of inert salt on the precipitation equilibria of magnesium carbonate in aqueous solutions, finding conditions and preferential place, in which the precipitates begin to form in electrodialysis unit. Hereafter the effects of polarity reversal of electrodes on the electrodialysis performance in a highly concentrated sodium sulfate system contaminated with magnesium and carbonate ions are discussed.
