RNA quality control in the cell nucleus
Abstract:
Poly(A) polymerasy jsou všeobecně známy jako enzymy zodpovědné za polyadenylaci 3´konce prekurzorové mRNA v jádře eukaryot. Vyskytují se však i v bakteriích, v nichž zastávají naprosto odlišnou fuknci. Polyadenylace nevede ke stabilizaci mRNA, jako je tomu v eukaryotech, ale k degradaci. Abstract:
Poly(A) polymerases are well known as enzymes responsible for polyadenylation of 3´ends of precursore mRNA in nucleus of eukaryotes. However there is also poly(A) polymerase in bacteria which mediates completly different function. Polyadenylation does not stabilize the mRNA like in eukaryotes but determines it for degradation.
