Employee Benefits Tax issues

Abstract:

The thesis titled "Tax Questions relating to Employees Benefits" aspires to accompany and initiate the reader into the questions of employees benefits. It also tries to analyze the impact of the taxation of employees benefits in the Slovak Republic on the part of an employee as well an on the part of an employer. The thesis has been divided into five chapters and additional subchapter. The introductory part of the thesis in Chapter 1 focuses on the theoretical explanation of the commencement of employment relationship. Chapter 2 contains a detailed analysis of the natural persons income tax. Chapter 3 analyses the meaning of employees benefits stressing the motivation and loyal performance of employees in favour of their employers. Chapter 4 describes at length particular benefits, their importance and division into several subcategories and the description of taxation from the point of view of an employee and an employer, respectively. The last Chapter 5 focuses at length on the system of employees benefits in a particular company and suggests more rational solutions of the said issue. The objective hereof is to analyze and elaborate the above-mentioned questions, so that it might be of some benefit for employees and employers and to help them avoid fundamental mistakes in the case of the provision of employees benefits. The thesis also contains examples, in order to approach the practical life and to help its reader to orientate more easily in the outlined questions.

Abstract:

Predmetom diplomovej práce „Daňová problematika zamestnaneckých benefitů“ je previesť a oboznámiť čitateľa s problematikou zamestnaneckých benefitov. Zanalyzovať dopad zdaňovania zamestnaneckých benefitov v Slovenskej republike, jak na strane zamestnanca tak aj na strane zamestnávateľa. Diplomová práca je rozdelená do piatich kapitol a ďalších podkapitol. V úvodnej časti diplomovej práce v 1. kapitole je teoretické vysvetlenie vzniku pracovného pomeru. V 2. kapitole je podrobne rozobratá problematika dane z príjmu fyzických osôb. 3. kapitola rozoberá význam zamestnaneckých benefitov s dôrazom na motiváciu a podávanie lojálneho výkonu zamestnancov pre zamestnávateľov. V 4 . kapitole sú podrobne popísané jednotlivé benefity, ich význam a rozdelene do viacerých kategórií a popis daňovej problematiky z hľadiska zamestnanca a zamestnávateľa. Posledná 5. kapitola podrobne rozoberá systém zamestnaneckých benefitov v konkrétnej spoločnosti a sú v nej navrhnuté racionálnejšie riešenia danej problematiky. Cieľ práce spočíva v snahe podrobnejšie rozpracovať túto problematiku tak, aby bola prínosom pre zamestnancov a zamestnávateľov, aby sa vyvarovali základných chýb pri poskytovaní zamestnaneckých benefitov. V diplomovej práci sú použité príklady, aby sa viac priblížila praxi a bola pre čitateľa niečím, čo mu môže pomôcť sa v danej problematike jednoduchšie zorientovať.
