Reference interest rates - PRIBOR and EURIBOR

Abstract:

Tématem práce jsou referenční úrokové sazby, které podléhají nařízení EU o referenčních hodnotách z června 2016 (BMR). První část práce se věnuje významu referenčních úrokových sazeb a peněžnímu trhu. Druhá část popisuje manipulaci s LIBOR a EURIBOR a následnou reakci ze strany Evropské komise ve formě BMR. Třetí část popisuje PRIBOR a snaží se vysvětlit chování sazeb PRIBOR v letech po globální finanční krizi roku 2008. Poslední část se věnuje EURIBOR, zejména Hybridní metodice pro výpočet této sazby a jejím vlivem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with reference interest rates which fall under 2016 EU regulation on indices used as benchmarks (BMR). First part of this thesis examines the significance of reference interest rates and the money market. The second part describes LIBOR and EURIBOR manipulation and subsequent reaction from the European commission in the form of BMR. The third part describes PRIBOR and tries to explain the behaviour of PRIBOR rates in years following 2008 global financial crisis. The last part is dedicated to EURIBOR, mainly the Hybrid methodology for calculating this rate and its impact.
