The role of nutrition in thromboembolic disease

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá úlohou výživy při tromboembolické nemoci. Věnuje se výživě z pohledu prevence TEN a také výživě při léčbě trombotických událostí antikoagulačním lékem warfarinem. Teoretická část je rozdělena na obecnou a speciální. Obecná část se zabývá fyziologickou a patofyziologickou podstatou daného tématu. Mimo jiné jsou v ní také uvedeny možnosti léčby. Speciální úsek je z převážné části věnován výživě při antikoagulační léčbě warfarinem. Je zde pojednáno o vitaminu K, jeho zdrojích a o vhodném výběru jednotlivých skupin potravin. Dále tato část popisuje výživu a její vliv v prevenci vzniku TEN či vliv obezity na rozvoj této nemoci. Téma o roli homocysteinu jako rizikovém faktoru trombózy je pojednáno na závěr teoretická části textu. Praktická část zahrnuje celkem 3 kazuistiky pacientek, z nichž dvě prodělaly tromboembolickou nemoc a stále mají indikovanou antikoagulační léčbě warfarinem. Třetí respondentka má pouze sklon ke zvýšené srážlivosti krve, tzv. trombofílii, respektive má v anamnéze Leidenskou mutaci. Trpí chronickou žilní insuficiencí, otoky a těžkou obezitou. Tyto stavy by v budoucnu pozitivně mohly ovlivnit rozvoj TEN.

Abstract:

My thesis describes a role of nutrition in thromboembolic disease. It deals with the nutrition in term of prevention of thromboembolic disease and also with the nutrition in a cure of thrombosis and thromboembolism with the aid of anticoagulant – warfarin. The theoretical part is divided into general and particular parts. The general part describes physiological and pathophysiological principles of the given topic. Among others there are mentioned the options of the cure. The particular part is mainly devoted to nutrition during the anticoagulant cure of warfarin, thus there is written about vitamine K, its resources and appropiate selection of several groups of food. This part also describes the nutrition and its effects in the prevention of the tromboembolic disease of the influence of obesity in the expansion of this disease. A mention of the role of homocysteine as a risk factor of thrombosis is discussed at the end of the theoretical part. The practical part includes casuistries of three patients, two of them have been treated for tromboembolic disease and they are still cured with the anticoagulant cure of warfarin. The third respondent has only tendency of increasing coagulation of blood, so-called thrombophilia, in other words her anamneses is the Leiden mutation. She suffers from chronic venous insuffiency, swellings and severe obesity. These healthy problems would positively influence the expansions of the thromboembolic disease in the future.
