Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá vývojem ženské módy v Číně od nástupu dynastie Qing do konce Čínské republiky v roce 1949. První polovina práce se věnuje charakteristice odívání žen z vyšších společenských kruhů v období dynastie Qing, kdy se na území Číny mísila dvě hlavní etnika – Hanové a Mandžuové. Jejich vzájemná interakce se prolínala také do oděvů, avšak každá strana si zachovala typické rysy, jenž můžeme na oděvu pozorovat. V této době se volba oděvu řídila výhradně podle události, na kterou se žena připravovala. Určeny byly tři druhy oděvu podle stupně formálnosti – formální, poloformální a neformální. Druhá část práce charakterizuje vývoj a změny v ženském odívání především v Šanghaji na pozadí politického, sociálního a kulturního děje v období Čínské republiky v letech 1912-1949. Po prohraných Opiových válkách byla Čína nucena otevřít své hranice a ukončit tak svoji izolovanost od okolního světa. Do Číny začaly proudit vlivy západních mocností a postupně se Čína proměňovala. Nejvýraznější změny v odívání nastaly, teprve až když padla dynastie Qing a přišlo období Čínské republiky. Čínské ženy se nechávaly inspirovat západními módními trendy, ale také mentalitou, která se promítala do oděvu. Nejvýraznějším módním hitem této doby se stalo qipao, typický oděv s čínskými prvky se často kombinoval se západními doplňky.

Abstract:

This work deals with the development of women’s fashion in China since the Qing dynasty until the end of the Republic of China in 1949. The first half of the work is concerned with the characteristics of the women of higher social circles during the Qing dynasty when two main ethnic groups were mingling in China – the Han Chinese and the Manchu. Their interactions also blended into clothing, but each side retained some typical features that we can observe on the garment. At that time, the choice of clothing was exclusively dependent on the event woman was preparing for. Three types of clothing were determined by their formality – formal, semi-formal, and informal. The second part of the thesis describes the development and changes in women’s clothing, especially in Shanghai on the background of political, social and cultural events in the period of the Republic of China in 1912–1949. After losing the Opium Wars, China was forced to open its borders and end its isolation from the outside world. Influences of the Western powers began to flow into China and China gradually changed. The most significant changes in clothing did not come until the fall of the Qing Dynasty and the coming of the Republic of China. Chinese women were inspired by Western fashion trends but also by the Western mentality that got reflected in clothing. The most striking fashion hit of this time was qipao, typical clothing with Chinese elements was often combined with Western accessories.
