Problems of government debt in France

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou vývoje a struktury veřejného dluhu ve Francii, definuje kritéria pro udržitelnost veřejného dluhu a porovnává francouzský veřejný dluh s italským a německým z hlediska udržitelnosti. V první části práce se teoreticky vymezuje veřejný dluh, uvádí základní klasifikace dluhu, jeho vyjádření a určují se faktory, které ho mohou ovlivnit. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na analýzu vývoje francouzského veřejného dluhu od 80. let 20.století a taktéž na jeho strukturu. V závěrečné kapitole jsou definována kritéria udržitelnosti dluhu se zaměřením na srovnání postavení francouzského veřejného dluhu vůči ostatním zemím eurozóny, především v porovnání s Itálii a Německem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of the evolution and structure of the French government debt, defines criteria for sustainability of government debt and compares French government debt with Italian and German in terms of sustainability. In the first part of the thesis the government debt is theoretically defined, it gives the basic classification of the debt, its measurement and determines the factors that can affect it. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the evolution of the French government debt from the 1980s and on its structure as well. The final chapter defines debt sustainability criteria with a view to comparing the position of the French government debt with other Eurozone countries, above all in comparison with Italy and Germany.
