Lymeská borelióza je multisystémové infekčné ochorenie spôsobené baktériou Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato a vyskytujúce sa takmer vo všetkých krajinách sveta. Nakoľko má toto ochorenie celosvetový charakter, zaoberajú sa ním mnohé štúdie. V prípade skorej diagnózy je liečba pomerne nenáročná.
