Deciding criteria for surgical instruments selection

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá kritérii při volbě operačních nástrojů. Práce se skládá z části teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část je věnována druhům operačních nástrojů, jejich výrobě a využitím v praxi. Nedílnou součástí je i znalost péče o tyto chirurgické nástroje a způsoby jejich správného skladování. Dále se práce věnuje managementu prodeje a nákupu operačních nástrojů. Pro empirickou část práce je zvolen kvalitativní výzkum za využití přístupu interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy (dále jen IPA) za využití techniky sběru dat polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s odborníky z praxe, kteří se podílejí na nákupu nových operačních nástrojů. Cílem výzkumu je zjistit, jaké jsou zkušenosti pracovníků ve zdravotnictví s nákupem nových operačních nástrojů, zjistit kritéria, která nákup ovlivňují, a zjistit jakým způsobem se personál stará o nové nástroje. Z výsledků je patrné, že za nákupem operačních nástrojů a s tím spojených kritérií pro nákup a péči o tyto nástroje je spolupráce řady osob z celého zdravotnického zařízení. Nejčastěji uváděná kritéria pro volbu nástroje jsou kvalita a cena. Je zjištěno, že pokud personál pečuje o nástroje správným způsobem, může být prodloužena životnost stávajících nástrojů a oddálen nákup nových operačních nástrojů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the criteria during selection of operational tools. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part describes production of the tools, its use in practice and care for them. Sales management and purchase of the operating tools is also covered in this thesis. Qualitative research using interpretative phenomenology anylysis access and data collection during semi-structured interview with experts from practice, who participate on the purchase of new tools process were used for the empirical part. Goal of the research was to find out the healthcare workers experience with purchase of new tools, find the criteria which affects the purchase and find our how the personel takes care of the new tools. It is evident from the results that there is cooperation of many people from the whole healthcare facility behind the purchase, purchase criteria and care for them. Mostly mentioned criteria for tools selection were quality and price. It was found that if personel takes care for the tools correctly, service life can be extended and purchase of new tools postponed.
