Abstract:

Předkládaná dizertační práce nabízí kritické vhledy do problematiky studia předkřesťanských náboženství severních Indoevropanů – Keltů, Germánů a Baltů. Dílčí tématické kapitoly reflektují výsledky činnosti hlavních humanitněvědních oborů, jež se na studiu těchto archaických náboženství zpravidla podílejí – archeologie, filologie a etnologie. Cílem každé z kapitol bylo představení stručné historie výzkumu náboženství vybrané severoindoevropské skupiny, shrnutí dosavadních výsledků rekonstrukcí na tomto poli a seznámení s interpretačními možnostmi a mezemi při řešení ústředních problémů.

Abstract:

The presented dissertation thesis offers critical insights into problems of research in pre-Christian religions of the northern Indo-Europeans – Celtic, Germanic and Baltic peoples. The particular thematic chapters reflect the results of the main branches of humanities, participating usually in the research of these archaic religions – archaeology, philology and ethnology. The aim of each chapter is to introduce into a brief history of research in the selected north-Indo-European tradition, summarize existing results of its reconstruction, and present interpretational possibilities and limits in dealing with fundamental problems in the particular field.
