Wi-fi nets visualization through GPS

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se věnuji návrhu možnosti vizualizace wi-fi sítí v mapové aplikaci s využitím dat z přijímacího modulu GPS. Jedním z cílů mé práce je popsat možnost vizualizace a názorné částečné zmapování signálu wi-fi v Ostravě a jeho zobrazení v aplikaci Google Earth, kde bude dále možno tyto wi-fi sítě rozdělit na zabezpečené sítě a nezabezpečené neboli Open Access Points. Na začátku se nejprve věnuji teoretickému přiblížení a rozboru funkce wi-fi jako možnosti připojení k Internetu, dále popisu fungování systému GPS a přijímacího přístroje GPS, také popisu jednotlivého softwaru, který jsem využil při této práci. V praktické části jsem se věnoval vlastnímu mapování a přenesení dat z aplikace Vistumbler, která slouží jako skener pro bezdrátové sítě wi-fi do aplikace Google Earth.

Abstract:

In his thesis I follow with design visualization wi-fi networks in the map application with data from the GPS receiver module. One of the goals of my work is to describe the visualization and the possibility of partial visual mapping Wi-Fi in Ostrava and its display in application Google Earth, which will continue to be the wi-fi network divided into secured and unsecured networks, or Open Access Points. At first, I start with a theoretical approach and analysis features wi-fi connectivity options such as the Internet further description of the operation of GPS and GPS reception, as well as a description of each software that I used in this work. The practical section is devoted to its own mapping and transferring data from an application Vistumbler that serves as a scanner for wireless networks, wi-fi to application Google Earth.
