Czech Family Businesses in the Intergenerational Change Process

Abstract:

Problematika rodinného podnikání je v ČR aktuálním a diskutovaným tématem. V rodinných podnicích dochází k první mezigenerační výměně a na managementu rodinných podniků participuje několik generací. Rozdílnost názorů následně ovlivňuje fungování rodinných podniků. Hlavním cílem disertační práce je identifikovat ekonomická a sociální specifika rodinných podniků v ČR a vyhodnotit změny těchto specifik spojených s generační výměnou při participaci několika generací na managementu a vlastnictví. Na základě provedeného výzkumu je možno konstatovat, že fungování rodinných podniků je ve sledovaných aspektech ovlivněno počtem generací, které se v průběhu mezigeneračního předání podílí na managementu nebo na vlastnictví rodinných podniků. Výzkum byl převážně kvalitativní, byl realizován po dobu čtyř let. Na základě závěrů výzkumu bylo možno usoudit, že mezi ekonomická specifika fungování rodinných podniků lze zařadit preferenci užití kapitálu, formu jeho alokace např. pro vyrovnání a mezigenerační převod, pro obchodní aktivity a pro technické a technologické změny; optimální míru zadluženosti, dostupnost zdrojů pro financování formou dotací, realizované exportní aktivity ve smyslu diverzifikace exportních teritorií. Mezi sociální specifika fungování rodinných podniků lze zařadit socioemocionální bohatství, vzdělávání majitelů a zaměstnanců, aktivity společenské odpovědnosti, využívání tzv. hodnotového marketingu, při kterém prostřednictvím nabízených hodnot rodinné podniky budují dlouhodobou spokojenost a následně loajalitu zákazníků a prezentují faktory rodinnosti ve svém příběhu, misi a vizi.

Abstract:

The issue of the family business is a current and discussed topic in the Czech Republic. The first intergenerational change takes place in family businesses and several generations participate in the management of family businesses. Differences of opinion subsequently affect the functioning of family businesses. The main aim of the dissertation is to identify the economic and social specifics of family businesses in the Czech Republic and to evaluate changes in these specifics associated with generational change with the participation of several generations in management and ownership. Based on the research, it can be stated that the functioning of family businesses is influenced in the monitored aspects by the number of generations that participate in the management or ownership of family businesses during the intergenerational transfer. The research was mostly qualitative, it was carried out for four years. Based on the conclusions of the research, it could be concluded that the economic specifics of the operation of the family businesses can include a preference for the usage of capital; the form of its allocation, eg for exit and intergenerational transfer, for business activities and technical and technological changes; the optimal level of indebtedness, availability of resources for financing in the form of subsidies, implemented export activities in the sense of diversification of export territories. The social specifics of the operation of family businesses include socio-emotional wealth, education of owners and employees, social responsibility activities, the use of so-called value marketing, in which family businesses build long-term satisfaction and subsequent customer loyalty and present family factors in their story, mission and vision.
