Not the goal, but the journey: Formative assessment in GFL lessons

Abstract:

The topic of formative assessment resonates in educational circles as a relatively new trend in school evaluation. This master's thesis raises the question of the influence of selected formative assessment strategies on pupils in teaching of the German language. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The first part is dedicated to the theoretical foundation and clarification of concepts of formative assessment. The empirical part clarifies chosen research design and presents the results of the executed research, which are reflected in the conclusion´s discussion. The thesis presents an unbiased picture of the implementation of these strategies in the classroom and highlights positives and obstacles on the way to formative assessment in teaching of the German language.

Abstract:

Téma formativního hodnocení rezonuje v pedagogických kruzích jako relativně nový trend ve školním hodnocení. Tato magisterská práce si klade otázku, jaký vliv mají vybrané strategie formativního hodnocení na žáky a žákyně ve výuce německého jazyka. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí - teoretické a empirické. První část je věnována teoretickým východiskům a objasnění pojmů formativního hodnocení. Empirická část objasňuje zvolený výzkumný design a představuje výsledky provedeného výzkumu, které jsou v závěru reflektovány v diskusi. Práce podává nezkreslený obraz o implementaci těchto strategií do výuky a poukazuje na pozitiva a překážky na cestě k formativnímu hodnocení ve výuce německého jazyka.
