The variability of ultraviolet spectrum of Cygnus X-1 binary

Abstract:

In the presented thesis we study the variability of ultraviolet spectrum of Cygnus X-1 binary depending on the orbital phase of the optical companion around the invisible one. In the first chapters of theoretical part we give a brief information about X-ray binaries and a basic information about the Cygnus X-1 binary. We also describe satellites which observed or still observe in ultraviolet range of spectrum and we finally describe a stellar wind and a stellar evolution that transforms young hot star to black hole. The practical part is devoted to spectra processing from the archive IUE satellite. From spectra we made graphs depending on the orbital phase.

Abstract:

V předložené práci studujeme proměnnost ultrafialového spektra rentgenového záření dvojhvězdy Cygnus X-1 v závislosti na fázi oběhu optické složky okolo neviditelné složky. V prvních kapitolách teoretické části je stručně popsáno dělení rentgenových dvojhvězd a základní údaje o dvojhvězdě Cygnus X-1. Dále je uveden přehled družic, které pozorovaly nebo stále pozorují v ultrafialové oblasti. Popisujeme hvězdný vítr, hvězdný vývoj a je také vysvětleno, jak se z původně mladé horké hvězdy stane černá díra. Praktická část je věnovaná zpracování spekter získaných z archivu družice IUE, ze kterých byly sestrojeny jednotlivé grafy závislosti toku v spektralních čarách na fázi oběhu.
