The design of educational strategies for understanding graphic materials of selected topics from Mechanics using Eye-Tracking technology

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na návrh edukačních strategií pro porozumění grafickým podkladům vybraných témat z mechaniky s využitím technologie eye-tracking. Výzkum analyzuje, jak žáci 1. a 2. ročníku vyššího gymnázia interagují s fyzikálními grafickými znázorněními, a hodnotí efektivitu těchto znázornění při zlepšování jejich porozumění fyzikálním konceptům. Technologie eye-tracking byla použita k detailnímu sledování pohybu očí žáků, což poskytlo cenná data pro optimalizaci vzdělávacích materiálů. Výsledky ukazují, že vhodně navržené grafické znázornění může významně zlepšit pochopení fyzikálních konceptů a zkrátit dobu potřebnou k řešení úloh. Diplomová práce dále navrhuje konkrétní edukační strategie, které zahrnují využití různých typů grafických znázornění, důraz na jejich jasnost a přehlednost, a zapojení moderních technologií, jako jsou interaktivní simulace.

Abstract:

This master's thesis focuses on designing educational strategies to understand graphic materials of selected mechanics topics using eye-tracking technology. The research analyzes how first-year and second-year high school students interact with physical graphic representations and evaluates the effectiveness of these representations in improving their understanding of physical concepts. Eye-tracking technology was used to closely monitor the students' eye movements, providing valuable data for optimizing educational materials. The results show that well-designed graphic representations can significantly enhance the comprehension of physical concepts and reduce the time needed to solve tasks. Furthermore, the thesis proposes specific educational strategies that include the use of various types of graphic representations, an emphasis on their clarity and comprehensibility, and the integration of modern technologies such as interactive simulations.
