Gender aspects of the field social worker profession

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na genderové aspekty profese sociálního pracovníka. Konkrétně se zabývá vnímáním problematiky genderu ve výkonu profese terénního sociálního pracovníka. Hlavním cílem této práce je pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu (technikou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru) prozkoumat genderové aspekty profese terénního sociálního pracovníka a na základě výsledků výzkumu pak navrhnout opatření ke zmírnění genderových bariér ve vzdělávání i v praxi terénních sociálních pracovníků. V práci jsou vymezeny dva hlavní tématické okruhy - Gender a jeho podoba v moderní společnosti a Vývoj sociální práce a její podoba v moderní společnosti. Tyto dva okruhy jsou v průběhu celé práce v rámci tématu provázané. Práce zahrnuje mimo jiné i genderovou problematiku v souvislosti se samotnými klienty, a to z pohledu terénních sociálních pracovníků. Na základě rozhovorů s terénními sociálními pracovníky je vytyčeno několik oblastí, kterým by se v souvislosti se snahou o redukci genderových bariér při výkonu profese terénního sociálního pracovníka měla věnovat pozornost.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the gender aspects of the social worker profession. It deals specifically with the perception of gender issues in the profession of the field social worker. The main objective of this paper is to explore the gender aspects of the field social worker profession through qualitative research (using a technique of semistructured interviews), and based on the results of this research to propose measures to mitigate gender barriers in education and practice of field social workers. In this paper two main topics are defined - gender and its form in modern society, and the development of social work and its form in modern society. These two fields are interconnected within the main topic throughout this paper. This paper includes, among other things, gender issues in relation with clients from the perspective of the social workers. Based on interviews with field social workers several areas are defined, which we should pay attention towards in the context of efforts to reduce gender barriers in the field social worker profession.
