Comparison of SME financing and Corporate financing

Abstract:

K výběru tématu „Porovnání financování malých a středních firem s financováním korporátních subjektů“ mě vedla skutečnost, že se financování podnikatelských subjektů zabývám již několik let v rámci své profese. Z pohledu úvěrového pracovníka jsem mohla poznat úvěrování firemní klientely a kontakt s ní a z pozice produktového manažera i druhou stranu financování, tedy nastavování parametrů úvěrových produktů, cenotvorbu, schvalovací proces z pozice banky. Téma není detailně zpracováno v žádné dostupné literatuře. V obecné rovině o úvěrové problematice pojednává publikace Úvěry zajištěné zástavním právem autora Aleše Rozehnala. Za další informace děkuji především kolegům z útvaru Segment and Lending SME a útvaru Corporate Raiffeisenbank a.s. Cílem této práce je představení základních pravidel financování segmentu malých a středních firem (tzv. segment SME) a segmentu corporátních klientů a dále podání uceleného přehledu hlavních rozdílů financování mezi těmito segmenty.

Abstract:

I was prompted to choose the topic ‘Contrasting the Financing of Small and Middle-sized Companies to Financing Corporate Subjects’ by the fact that I myself have been involved in financing entrepreneurial subjects for a few years in my profession. From the vantage point of a credit analyst I have had a chance to become familiar with financing corporate clientele and the contact with them, as well as from the position of a product manager I was able to become familiar with the other side of financing, that is setting the parameters of credit products, price setting, the approval process from the position of a bank. The topic is not detailed in any available sources. On a general level the credit-related issue is discussed in Aleš Rozehnal’s Úvěry zajištěné zástavním právem. For other information I would like to thank primarily my colleagues from Corporate Reiffeisenbank a.s. The objective of this work is the introduction of basic principles in financing the small and middle-sized company segment (aka SME segment) and the corporate clientele segment. Moreover, it also provides a comprehensive overview of the main differences between financing these two segments.
