Psychological aspects in hotel management.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of "Customer Behavior Psychology in the Hospitality Industry." The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the various types of customer personalities in the hospitality industry, their interactions with the services provided, and subsequently propose improvements in the hospitality industry to achieve maximum customer satisfaction. To achieve this goal, two research questions have been formulated: "Does the behavior of the accomodation facilities staff influence customer loyalty?" and "Can accommodation facilities and their staff improve their services by adapting to customer personality types?" The hypothesis in the thesis is formulated based on a literature review and states: H1 "Google reviews play the biggest role in choosing an accommodation facility." The diploma thesis will be divided into three main parts: the theoretical part, the analytical part consisting of two sections, and the proposal part. A conclusion will be provided at the end. In the theoretical part, we will focus on hotel management, psychology, and personality psychology. However, the most important aspect in the theoretical part is the consumer personality and the types of customer personalities, which will be used in the analytical part. Specifically, we will examine the analytical, amiable/friendly, expressive, and assertive/executive types of customer personalities. These personality types will be utilized in the second section of the analytical part to investigate differences in the reactions of staff behavior and the services they provide. The analytical part will use the method of observation in the form of mystery shopping and questionnaire surveys to determine the preferences and differences among these personality types. We will also find out how complications caused by accommodation facilities affect customers. Understanding how customers are influenced by the behaviour of the staff and their services will be one of the key tasks. The proposal part of the thesis will focus on providing useful recommendations that could contribute to the improvement of services in accommodation facilities. These recommendations aim to maximize customer satisfaction. Based on the previously acquired information, these proposals will be beneficial for accommodation facilities and their staff.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá témou Psychológia správania zákazníka v Hotelníctve. Hlavným cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je zhodnotenie jednotlivých typov osobností zákazníkov v Hotelníctve, ich interakcií s poskytovanými službami, a následné navrhnutie zlepšenia služieb v Hotelníctve v rámci dosiahnutia maximálnej spokojnosti zákazníkov. Na splnenie tohoto cieľa boli stanovene dve výskumné otázky, a to „Ovplyvňuje chovanie personálu zákazníkov ubytovacích zariadení v rámci opakovanej návratnosti?“ a „Dokážu ubytovacie zariadenia a ich personál zlepšiť svoje služby tým, že sa prispôsobia typom osobnosti zákazníkov?“ Hypotéza v diplomovej práci je stanovené na základe literárnej rešerše v znení: H1 „Pri výbere ubytovacieho zariadenia hrajú najväčšiu rolu recenzie na Google“. Diplomová práca bude rozdelená na tri základné časti. Teoretickú časť, analytickú časť, ktorá sa skladala z dvoch častí a návrhovú časť. Na konci bude záver. V teoretickej časti sa budeme zaoberať hotelierstvom, psychológiou a psychológiou osobnosti. Najdôležitejšie, sú ale v teoretickej časti, osobnosť ako spotrebiteľ a typy osobností zákazníkov, ktorú budú použite v analytickej časti. Jedná sa o analytický, prívetivý/priateľský, expresívny a asertívny/výkonný typ osobnosti zákazníka. Konkrétne budú využité v druhej časti analytickej časti práce, a to pri zisťovaní rozdielov na reakcie chovania personálu a služieb ktorých poskytuje. V analytickej časti budeme využívať metódu pozorovania formou mystery shoppingu a dotazníkové šetrenie, pri ktorých zistíme preferencie týchto typov a odlišnosti. Taktiež zistíme, ako komplikácie spôsobene ubytovacími zariadeniami pôsobia na zákazníkov. Porozumieť ako sú zákazníci ovplyvňovaný chovaním personálu a ich službami bude jednou s kľúčových úloh. Návrhová časť diplomovej práce bude zameraná na poskytnutie užitočných odporučení, ktoré by mohli napomôcť vylepšeniu služieb ubytovacích zariadení. Zároveň môžu napomôcť k maximálnej spokojnosti zákazníkov. V nadväznosti na predošle doposiaľ nadobudnuté informácie, budú tieto návrhy pre ubytovacie zariadenia a ich personál užitočne.
