Self-efficacy and coping strategies in people who stutter

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with the topic self-efficacy and coping strategies in people who stutter. The theoretical part briefly outlines the basic knowledge related to stuttering, self-efficacy and coping strategies. The chapters are augmented by recent studies conducted in this area. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on finding the difference in self-efficacy and use of coping strategies among people with stuttering and control group. Research was made on a sample of 27 people with stuttering and 27 people in the control group using General Self-efficacy Scale (GSE) and Coping Strategies Inventory (CSI). The difference in self-efficacy and coping strategies in people who stutter was demonstrated by using statistical methods.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa venuje self-efficacy a copingovým stratégiám u osôb s balbuties. V teoretickej časti sú stručne vymedzené základné poznatky týkajúce sa balbuties, self-efficacy a copingových stratégií. Kapitoly sú rozšírené o najnovšie výskumy uskutočnené v tejto oblasti. Výskumná časť bakalárskej práce je zameraná na zistenie rozdielu v self-efficacy a používaní copingových stratégií medzi osobami s balbuties a kontrolnou skupinou. Výskum bol uskutočnený na vzorke 27 osôb s balbuties a 27 osôb bez narušenej komunikačnej schopnosti za použitia Dotazníku obecné vlastní efektivity a Tobinova inventáře copingových stratégií. Použitím štatistických metód bol preukázaný rozdiel v self-efficacy a copingových stratégiách u osôb s balbuties.
