Methods of QT interval Detection in ECG Signal

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá metodami detekce konce T vlny v signálu elektrokardiogramu (EKG) a postupem měření QT intervalu s využitím především metody prokládání přímky sestupnou hranou T vlny. Pro snadnější pochopení významu QRS komplexu, T vlny a důvodů detekce QT intervalu je v úvodních kapitolách přiblížena problematika elektrické činnosti srdce a způsobu měření signálu EKG. QT interval je zde chápán jako doba projevu elektrické aktivace komor a návratu pracovních buněk srdce do klidového stavu. V teoretické části práce je současně proveden přehled metod detekce R vlny a konce T vlny. V praktické části byl testován vliv různě zvolených hodnot parametrů předzpracování a vnitřního nastavení metody detekce konce T vlny na délku výsledných QT intervalů. Výsledkem testů je doporučení optimálních hodnot parametrů. Dále byly vybrány 4 metody detekce konce T vlny a na datech 12 zdravých dobrovolníků byly testovány rozdíly v detekci QT intervalů. Poslední část práce se zabývá možností detekce T vlny v místě jejího maxima. Metoda byla vyzkoušena na konkrétních datech.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with methods of the T wave end detection in electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. There is a detailed description of a procedure of the QT interval measurement. The most widely used method of the T wave end detection uses interleaving of straight line along the descending part of the T wave and its intersection of the isoelectric line. For better understanding of this thesis there are parts about electrical activity of the heart and ECG taking at the beginning. Then we can learn about QRS complexes, T waves, QT intervals and some related clinical problems there. The QT interval is the time of depolarization and repolarization of ventricles. The summary of methods of R wave and T wave detection is very important part too. A practical part of this thesis includes testing of various parameters. The aim was to discover an impact of selected parameters on QT interval length and variability. This finding has been useful for recommendation of optimal values of these parameters. The difference between four methods of the T wave end detection was tested and discussed. Data has been taken from 12 healthy volunteers. At the end of practical work there is the most important part. The method of the T wave maximum detection was tested and verified on real data sets.
