Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Investiční bankovnictví“ je rozebrat výhody a nevýhody odděleného bankovního systému ve Spojených státech amerických oproti univerzálnímu systému v Německu a segmentovanému v Itálii a zaměřit jeho dopady. Nejdříve jsou rozebrána teoretická východiska spojená s bankovními modely, investičním a komerčním bankovnictvím. Další část práce popisuje vývoj regulatorního rámce bankovních systémů tří uvedených zemí v období od 30. let 20. století do současnosti. Posléze je analyzován krach Lehman Brothers a vývoj JPMorgan Chase & Co. a nakonec jsou shrnuty poznatky z práce.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Investment Banking” is to analyze advantages and disadvantages of separate banking system in the United States of America compared to the universal system in Germany and the segmented system in Italy and to address its’ impacts. First of all, the theoretical background of banking models, investment and commercial banking is analyzed. The next part is aimed at development of banking systems’ regulatory framework of three previously named countries from ‘30s of 20th century to the present. Later, the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and the development of JPMorgan Chase & Co. are analyzed and findings from the thesis are summarized.
