Analysis of geologic samples in the field of archeology.
Abstract:
This thesis is focused on the study of natural glass - obsidian. Obsidian is volcanic material occurring throughout the world. It was used as a prehistoric stone tool due to its excellent fissile properties. Part of theory deals with the characteristics of volcanic glass, deposits and methods used to characterize them. Táto diplomová práca sa venuje problematike prírodných skiel resp. obsidiánom. Obsidián je vulkanický materiál vyskytujúci sa na celom svete. Vďaka jeho vynikajúcim štiepnym vlastnostiam bol v minulosti používaný ako kamenný nástroj.
