The Financial Management of Territorially Divided Corporate Town

Abstract:

The subject of my diploma thesis is the analysis of financial management in selected territorially divided corporate town, for which I chose the corporate town Brno. The theoretical part deals with the corporate towns, their definition and history. Then I deal the instruments of financial management, which are budget and budget outlook. In the practical part, there is analysis of management in corporate town Brno in the period of 2007-2011, description of budget`s revenues and expenditures and connection with budget outlook. The analysis is based on using publicly accessible documents and also internal materials of Municipality of Brno. The next part is focused on management of town districts with emphasis on financial relations between the town and its districts.

Abstract:

Predmetom tejto diplomovej práce je analýza finančného riadenia vo vybranom územne členenom štatutárnom mesta, za ktoré som si zvolila štatutárne mesto Brno. Teoretická časť práce je zameraná na problematiku štatutárnych miest, ich vymedzenie a historický vývoj. Následne sa venujem nástrojom finančného riadenia obcí, ktorými sú rozpočet a rozpočtový výhľad. V praktickej časti analyzujem hospodárenie štatutárneho mesta Brna v období 2007-2011, príjmovú a výdajovú stránku rozpočtu s väzbou na rozpočtový výhľad. Analýza vychádza z verejne dostupných dokumentov ako aj z interných materiálov Magistrátu mesta Brna. Ďalšia časť je orientovaná na hospodárenie mestských častí s dôrazom na finančný vzťah medzi rozpočtom mesta a rozpočtami mestských častí.
