Metaphosphate glasses with vanadium

Abstract:

Byla připravena skla dvou kompozičních řad xV2O5-(50-2x)ZnO-(50+x)P2O5, kde x = 0, 1, 5, 10, 15 a yV2O5-(50-1,5y)ZnO-(50+0,5y)P2O5, kde y = 0; 5; 33,3. Většina skel obsahující vanad byla homogenní a tmavě zelená. Barevnost byla způsobena redukcí pětimocného vanadu na čtyřmocný, přičemž procentuální redukce byla zjištěna pomocí ESR. U připravených skel byla změřena měrná hmotnost, a dále pomocí TMA zjištěna teplota skelné transformace, teplota měknutí a koeficient teplotní roztažnosti. Struktura byla studována pomocí Ramanovy spektroskopie a 31P MAS NMR.

Abstract:

Glasses of two composition series xV2O5- (50-2x) ZnO- (50 + x) P2O5 were prepared, where x = 0, 1, 5, 10, 15 and yV2O5- (50-1,5y) ZnO- (50 + 0 , 5y) P2O5, where y = 0; 5; 33.3. Most vanadium-containing glasses were homogeneous and dark green. The color was due to the reduction of pentavalent vanadium to tetravalent vanadium, the percentage reduction being determined by ESR. The density of the prepared glasses was measured, and the glass transformation temperature, the softening temperature and the coefficient of thermal expansion were determined by means of TMA. The structure was studied by Raman spectroscopy and 31 P MAS NMR.
