Abstract:
This thesis concerns how English native speakers perceive English utterances produced by Slovak speakers. The primary focus of the research is on pronunciation errors with regard to English short vowels. An English native speaker ? assessor was asked to identify pronunciation errors in the monologues of Slovak university students ? subjects. Práca sa zaoberá tým, ako rodení anglicky hovoriaci vnímajú anglické výpovede vyprodukované slovenskými hovoriacimi. Pozornosť sa primárne upriamuje na chyby vo výslovnosti, pričom sú v centre diania anglické krátke vokály.
