Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation in education at primary school

Abstract:

Anotace Diplomová práce „Územní a druhová ochrana ve výuce na 1. stupni ZŠ“ se zabývá postavením územní a druhové ochrany ve výuce na 1. stupni v souvislosti s poznáváním rozmanitosti přírody regionu bydliště i celé České republiky. V teoretické části rozebírá legislativní podklady územní a druhové ochrany, tradici výuky věd o přírodě a společnosti na prvním stupni se zaměřením na téma územní a druhové ochrany přírody a postavení environmentální výchovy v této výuce. Dále též řeší otázku možností pedagoga či výzkumníka při zjišťování žákových znalostí o daném tématu. V praktické části pak formou výzkumné sondy zjišťuje znalosti žáků 5. ročníků z daného tématu. K tomuto účelu byl na základě didaktické analýzy vybraných učebnicových sad vzdělávací oblasti Člověk a jeho svět a závazných školských dokumentů sestaven didaktický test. Testovanými kategoriemi byli žáci, jejichž škola se nachází v bezprostřední blízkosti chráněného území a naopak na území vzdálenějším, v Brně a okolí. Výsledky obou skupiny byly vzájemně porovnávány a doplněny srovnáním s výsledky studentů oboru Učitelství pro 1. stupeň.

Abstract:

Annotation The Diploma Thesis „Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation in education at primary school” deals with position of environment protection and biodiversity conversation in education at primary school with relation to discovering diversity of nature in region of child's life and in the area of the whole Czech Republic. In the theoretical part the Thesis analyzes legislative basis of the problem, history of primary school education in the field of nature and social studies and position of environmental education in these subjects. In addition to this the Thesis deals with possible methods teachers and researchers can use while probing knowledge of pupils in desired fields. In the practical part the Thesis looks into knowledge of the fifth grade pupils in subject matter, using small empiric research. For this purposes the didactic test was construct while using data obtained by analysis of sets of schoolbooks and compulsory educational documents. Two main tested groups were pupils from schools very close to the protected area and pupils from other parts of the region, mostly from Brno and surroundings. Results of both groups were compared and in addition to this, they were confronted with results of freshman students from the program of Primary School Teacher Training.
