Gender differences in the perception of the consequences of migration among Russian-speaking immigrants from Kazakhstan

Anotace:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo prozkoumat subjektivní vnímání následků migrace ruskojazyčných migrantů z Kazachstánu a analyzovat genderové rozdíly v tomto vnímání. V teoretické části výzkumu byly zvažovány hlavní aspekty migračních procesů, včetně procesů adaptace a integrace. Byly analyzovány překážky, kterým migranti čelí v procesu integrace, a zkoumány fenomény kulturního šoku a akulturačního stresu. Empirická část práce je založena na tematické analýze polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se třemi ženami a třemi muži z Kazachstánu žijícími v České republice v průměru pět let. Výsledky tematické analýzy odhalily pět klíčových témat: důvody migrace, adaptační procesy, kulturní hodnoty a formování osobnosti, dopad migrace na rodinné vztahy a perspektivy do budoucna.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to explore the subjective perception of the consequences of migration of Russian-speaking migrants from Kazakhstan and to analyse gender differences in this perception. The theoretical part of the research considered the main aspects of migration processes, including the processes of adaptation and integration. The obstacles that migrants face in the process of integration were analyzed, and the phenomena of culture shock and acculturation stress were examined. The empirical part of the thesis is based on thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with three women and three men from Kazakhstan living in the Czech Republic for an average of five years. The results of the thematic analysis revealed five key themes: reasons for migration, adaptation processes, cultural values and personality formation, the impact of migration on family relationships and future perspectives.
