Aesthetics of forest in the Czech background

Abstract:

Práce je přehledovou studií, která se zabývá lesní estetikou v českém prostředí v lesnické literatuře. Cílem této práce je zmapování stavu lesní estetiky a její uvedení do evropského kontextu. Práce se proto nejprve zabývá stručným popisem dějin, které stojí za vznikem lesní estetiky jako samostatného oboru, přičemž největší pozornost klade na dílo Salische, který je považován za jejího zakladatele. Stěžejním bodem práce jsou kapitoly zaměřené na jednotlivé autory lesní estetiky – Josefa Strachotu, Josefa Konšela, Bohuslava Polanského, Štefana Korpeľa, Jana Jurču a Aloise Mezeru. Na základě analýzy vybraných textů daných autorů, se práce snaží zmapovat stav lesní estetiky, nalézt podobnosti či rozdílnosti v jednotlivých pojetích dané problematiky a vytvořit tak systematický text, v jehož celku se projeví vývoj estetiky lesa a dobové souvislosti či naopak rozpory mezi jednotlivými autory.

Abstract:

Thesis is a review study dealing with aesthetics of forests in the Czech background in the forestry literature. The aim of thesis is to map the state of forest aesthetics and putting it into the European context. The thesis is therefore first gives a brief description of the history behind the creation of forest aesthetics as an independent field, with the greatest attention given to work of Salisch, which is regarded as its founder. The main point of the thesis are chapters focusing on individual authors of forest aesthetics – Josef Strachota, Josef Konšel, Bohuslav Polanský, Štefan Korpeľ, Jan Jurča and Alois Mezera. Based on the analysis of selected texts of the authors, the work seeks to map the status of forest aesthetics, to find similarities or differences in individual concepts of the issue and create a systematic text in the whole affects the development of forest aesthetics and contemporary context or vice versa contradictions between individual authors.
