Nature based solutions and their application in Český Těšín town

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou environmentálních problémů urbánní krajiny a využitelností konceptu Přírodě blízkých opatření k jejich efektivnímu řešení. Zaměřuje se na klasifikaci a následný popis jednotlivých opatření se shrnutím jejich výhod a rizik spojených s implementací. Tato část je řešena formou samostatné přílohy v podobě katalogu, který je následně využit k analýze vybraného území a zhodnocení 85 zde identifikovaných existujících prvků Přírodě blízkých opatření. Výsledná data jsou popsána popisnou statistikou a vizualizována pomocí přehledných map, jež jsou rovněž samostatnými přílohami této práce. Z analýzy výsledků vyplývá, že mezi existujícími jsou nejčastěji zastoupena plně funkční a udržovaná opatření, v menší míře pak částečně funkční opatření. Obě tyto kategorie jsou následně blíže specifikovány. Stručně se práce zabývá také návrhem potenciálně vhodných opatření (v celkovém počtu 35 prvků), u kterých je zvláště zdůrazňována potřeba odborného zhodnocení potenciálu daných lokalit. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty doporučení k úspěšnému začlenění konceptu do procesu městského plánování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of environmental problems in urban landscape and the possibility of their effective solving via the concept of nature based solutions (NBS). It is focused on the classification and description of particular measures of NBS which is supplemented with a summarry of their benefits and risks. That part is formed in a catalog which is also a separate annex of this thesis. This catalog is then used to analyze the selected area and evaluate the 85 existing elements of nature based solutions which were identified. The resulting data are described by descriptive statistics and visualized using maps, which are also separate annexes of this thesis. The results show that among the existing measures, fully functional measures are the most often represented, and to a lesser extent partially functional measures. Both of these categories are then specified in more detail. The work also briefly deals with the design of potentially suitable measures (a total of 35 elements), in which the need for professional evaluation of the potential of the sites is particularly emphasized. At the end of the work are summarized the recommendations for the successful integration of the concept into the urban planning process.
