Solmization Methods for Developing Musical Hearing in Younger School-Age Children

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou rozvoje hudebního sluchu u dětí mladšího školního věku.V teoretické části jsou popsány hlavní solmizační metody, typy hudebního sluchu, psychické zvláštnosti tohoto věku a také je uvedena historie rozvoje předmětu solfeggio (souhrn solmizačních metod).Praktická část práce popisuje osobní zkušenosti autorky s prací v experimentálních skupinách solfeggia. Podrobně jsou vysvětleny metody práce na hodinách, jako jsou intonační a rytmická cvičení, zpěv z listu, psaní notových diktátů a sluchová analýza. Jsou uvedeny unikátní autorské metody zkušených učitelů solfeggia i osobní zkušenosti autora jako příklady.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the problematics of musical hearing development among children of younger school age. The structure goes as follows: the theoretical part attempts to describe the main solmization methods, types of musical hearing and the psycholoical peculiarities of the age in question, same as the history of solfegio development as a subject. Here, the summary of the earlier mentioned solmization methods are presented as well.The practical part of this thesis is, in turn, focused on the author's personal experience of working with experimental solfeggio groups of students. Here, the methods of class/group work - such as intonation and rhythmic exercises, singing from a sheet, note dictations and acoustic analysis - are all explained in detail. Some of the unique methods of solfeggio teaching, applied by the various solfeggio teachers, along with the author's experience are also given as examples to emphasize the empirical side of this thesis.
