The Development and Transition in Bangladesh

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována rozvoji a tranzitivním procesům probíhajícím v Bangladéšské lidové republice od oddělení od Pákistánu. Cílem této práce je zhodnocení úrovně rozvoje v kontextu politické a ekonomické tranzice. Teoretická část je zaměřena na objasnění termínů rozvoj a tranzice, demokratický backsliding, a také politických stran. V druhé kapitole je uvedená geografická charakteristika Bangladéše a stručný historický kontext. Ve třetí kapitole je shrnuta politická tranzice od oddělení od Pákistánu, Islám v politice a dále i volby. V poslední kapitole je uveden udržitelný rozvoj, ekonomická tranzice a zahraniční vliv. Práce je vypracována na základě kompilace odborné literatury. Úroveň rozvoje je zhodnocena pomocí ukazatelů HDI a HDP. Výsledek práce ukazuje rapidní rozvoj této země za poslední léta a úspěšný rozvoj i přes své rozvojové aspekty.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is devoted to the development and transitive processes taking place in the People's Republic of Bangladesh since the separation from Pakistan. The aim of this work is to evaluate the level of development in the context of political and economic transition. The theoretical part is focused on clarifying the terms development and transition, democratic backsliding, and also political parties. The second chapter presents the geographical characteristics of Bangladesh and a brief historical context. The third chapter summarizes the political transition from the separation from Pakistan, Islam in politics and then the elections. In the last chapter, sustainable development, economic transition and foreign influence are presented. The work is prepared on the basis of a compilation of professional literature. The level of development is evaluated using HDI and GDP indicators. The result of the work shows the rapid development of this country in recent years and successful development despite its aspects.
