The Rate of Employee Engagement and Satisfaction with the Employee Benefits in relation to the Total Job Satisfaction

Abstract:

V současné době řeší většina podniků problém s nedostatkem pracovníků. Mimo to, že se snaží získat nové pracovníky, klade důraz na stabilizaci stávajících. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, zda míra angažovanosti u liniových pracovníků vybraného podniku má větší dopad na jejich celkovou pracovní spokojenost než míra spokojenosti se stávajícím systémem benefitů. Vybraným podnikem je podnik Ideal Standard s.r.o., který vyrábí a prodává sanitární a užitkovou keramiku. Jako hlavní metoda sběru dat bylo použito písemné dotazování (n = 212). V rámci procesu řízení pracovního výkonu věnují zaměstnavatelé zpravidla značnou pozornost systému benefitů. Pomocí regrese však bylo prokázáno, že na celkovou pracovní spokojenost, která je důležitým faktorem pro stabilizaci pracovníků, má větší dopad míra pracovní angažovanosti než systém benefitů. Test Kruskal Wallis pak prokázal, že celkově jsou spokojenější pracovníci, kteří v podniku pracují méně než 12 měsíců. Důležitou součást pracovní angažovanosti tvoří atmosféra na pracovišti, spokojenost s vedením a míra potenciální fluktuace. Z výsledků Mann-Whitney U testu vyplývá, že jak spokojenost s vedením, tak pozitivní atmosféru na pracovišti vykazují statisticky významněji mladí pracovníci (do 29 let), kteří tvoří zhruba jednu čtvrtinu pracovníků podniku. Na jednom z provozů (glazovna) byla zjištěna statisticky významně vyšší míra potenciální fluktuace. Uvedená zjištění, resp. přijetí cílených opatření na tato zjištění přispěje k eliminaci rizika odchodu pracovníků.

Abstract:

Most businesses are currently dealing with a shortage of employees. In addition to trying to recruit new employees, they emphasize the stabilization of existing ones. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out whether the Rate of Employee Engagement of line employees in the selected company has a greater impact on their Total Job Satisfaction than the Rate of Satisfaction with the existing system of Employee´s Benefits. The selected company is Ideal Standard s.r.o., which manufactures and sells sanitary and utility ceramics. The main method of data collection was written questioning (n = 212). As part of the performance management, employers typically pay a lot of attention to the system of benefits. However, regression method has shown that the Total Job Satisfaction, which is an important factor in the stabilization of employees, has a greater impact on the Rate of Employee Engagement than the system of benefits. The Kruskal Wallis test then showed that employees who work in the company for less than 12 months are more satisfied. An important part of work engagement is atmosphere at the workplace, satisfaction with the management and the rate of potential fluctuation. The results of the Mann-Whitney U test show that young employees (up to 29 years of age), who make up about a quarter of the company's workforce, show statistically more significant satisfaction with the management and the positive atmosphere at the workplace. One of the department (glazovna) was found to have a significantly higher rate of potential fluctuation. These findings, respectively the adoption of targeted measures for these findings will contribute the elimination of the risk that employees leave.
