Analysis of Economical Series Using F-transform Method

Abstract:

Analýza časových řad se zabývá metodami pro analyzování časově uspořádaných dat. Metody slouží k získání statistických a jiných charakteristik daných měření. Analýza vytváří model, který je pak použit pro předpovídání budoucích hodnot na základě předem získaných hodnot. V diplomové práci jsou popsány dekompoziční metody a zejména poměrně nový přístup k dané problematice - metodologie pro analýzu a předpovědi časových řad, která pracuje s tzv. trendo-cykly. Jsou zde využity dvě techniky soft computingu - F-transformace a logická dedukce založena na percepci (PbLD). Trendo-cykly jsou odhadnuty pomocí F^0-transformace nebo F^1-transformace, mají dobré aproximační schopnosti a vlastnosti redukující šum. Tato metoda nepracuje s předem určenou funkci, která by prodloužením vytvořila předpověď. Po ověření modelu trendo-cyklu je k předpovědi časové řady použita PbLD technika, zkonstruuje se několik nezávislých modelů, díky kterým je vytvořena předpověď. V práci je provedeno srovnání úspěšnosti vytvoření modelu a předpovědi uvedené metodologie s modely a předpověďmi exponenciálního vyrovnávání.

Abstract:

Time series analysis comprises methods for analyzing time series data to extract statistics and other characteristics of the data. The analysis creates a model, which can be used to predict future values based on previously observed values. The thesis includes the methods of the decomposition of time series into its natural components. There is one of the new methodologies described for the analysis and forecasting of time series dealing with the so-called trend-cycles. It contains two techniques of soft computing - the F-transform and the perception-based logical deduction (PbLD). For estimation of trend-cycles the F^0-transform or F^1-transform methods are applied due to their powerful approximation and noise reduction properties. Moreover, both methods do not use any predetermined approximating function (curve or shape). For creating a forecast of time series the PbLD technique is used after the model has been veri ed. Thanks to the construction of several independent models the prediction can be created. The results of the methodology are compared with the results of the models and predictions of exponencial smoothing.
