Building a scientific career with support and use of EU R&D grant instruments: a case study of BUT

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje návrhu strategie organizace stimulující kariérní růst mladého výzkumného pracovníka v akademickém prostředí. Jsou popsány důvody organizace pro tuto formu podpory, především ve snaze zvýšit výkon organizace. Na základě analyzované vazby mezi trendem růstu dostupných finančních prostředků a trendem růstu publikační činnosti se praktická část věnuje identifi-kaci vybraných programů podporujících mezinárodní mobilitu anebo výzkum. S ohledem na charakteristické požadavky jednotlivých programů je navrženo možné časové schéma postupného, případně i současného využití těchto dotač-ních titulů vedoucích ke zvyšování mezinárodních vazeb, profesní kvalifikace mla-dého akademického pracovníka, a ve svém důsledku z pohledu organizace výkonu.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of organization strategy to stimulate career growth of a young researcher in academic domain. Objectives of the organi-zation for such support tool are described, primarily following the aim to increase the performance of the organization. Based on the analysed relationship between the growth trend in available fi-nances and growth trend in publications, the practical part identifies selected funding possibilities supporting international mobility and/or research. Following the key requirements of individual funding programs, possible time scheme of gradual, or if possible join, use of these funding programs leading to rising interna-tional relationships, professional qualification of young researcher and resulting in increased performance of the organization is proposed.
