Design of children’s furniture

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je návrh dětského nábytku. Skládá se jak z teoretické, tak i praktické části. V části teoretické je nejen historický vývoj dětského nábytku od konce pravěku až po současnost, ale jsou zde také podrobně popsána jednotlivá vývojová stádia dítěte, které poskytují informace o dovednostech, potřebách a ná-rocích dítěte. Mohou tak být vodítkem pro správné vybavení a zařízení dětského pokoje. Důležité je také zaměření se na ergonomii, bezpečnost a zdraví. Praktická část práce je soustředěna na zmapování trhu s dětským nábytkem standardním i atypickým (zaměřeným na růst dítěte) a následně pak práce na finálním návrhu designu dětského rostoucího stolu.

Abstract:

Purpose of this study is the children's furniture design. It contains both theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part it not only covers historical develop-ment of children's furniture from the end of prehistory till present but it also de-scribes in detail child's particular development stages that convey information about skills, needs and demands of a child. These can be a guidance for the proper furnishing and installation of the children's room. Focus on ergonomics, safety and health is important as well. Practical part of this writing is concentrated on map-ping of children's furniture market both standard and atypical (targeted to child's growth) followed by the final design of child's growing table.
