Online Life after Death

Abstract:

Tato diplomová magisterská práce se soustředí na aktuální problematiku nesmazatelnosti virtuální identity v souvislosti s fyzickou smrtí uživatele internetu. Přítomnost digitální stopy v online prostředí i po reálné smrti je hodnocena jako atribut nesmrtelnosti. Tato práce je zároveň orientována na analýzu digitální pozůstalosti a digitálního dědictví. Soudobá manipulace s daty zemřelého uživatele internetu, ze strany pozůstalých, je hodnocena za pomoci komparace české a zahraniční praxe v této oblasti. V teoretických i praktických souvislostech je tato práce vhledem do okruhu problémů spojených s fyzickou smrtí internetového uživatele, a jeho dále žijící virtuální identitou.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the actual problematic of virtual identity's incompetence of elimination in the connotation with physical death of internet user. The presence of digital footprint in online surroundings after the real death is evaluated as an attribute of immortality. This diploma work is also oriented on analysis of digital inheritance and estate of the deceased. The issue of contemporary possible manipulation with information from the side of bereaved persons is reflected in the comparison with Czech and external practice in this area. In the theoretical and practical connotations, this work is insight into sphere of problems connected with physical death of internet user and his still living virtual identity.
